It turns out (I stumbled onto a thread on the forums that mentioned this) that you actually can get an imp pack of some of the unimpable Gaiman scents.
Over at the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund site's "products" page, http://www.cbldf.com/, you can click on Neil Gaiman and get to a page where you can choose, among other things, the imp pack of 7 for a $20 donation to CBLDF. Weird thing is that it says 7, but lists 8 scents. It's only the American Gods and Ananzi Boys scents.

And...um...WOW! I put in my order this morning and as I was typing I just got a shipping notice.

Damn BPAL. Damn them.

I just received my Velvet paintings decants, and I think I may have to order bottles of quite a few of them.  Dammit.

I'll review things as I test them.

First: Velvet Bandito - OMG yummy smoky (but not stale bar smoke) wood!  Softens to a gentle smell that's reminiscent of pipe tobacco.  Seems to hover close to the skin.

Velvet April Fools

Just in case anyone is still checking in here...

Yup! The April Fools update is up (Hidden at the bottom of The Salon page, though they're priced lower than Salons. $17.50, I think.) A set of wonderfully tacky Velvet Paintings. Also there's a three-bottle set under the new items on BPTP. They're up til June 1, and I'm already in a decant circle for the Velvets!

New 13 Up at BPAL!

The new 13 is up! Live until Saturday the 14th. This sounds yummy and exotic to me, so I put in an order and gave it a traveling companion of "Pickled Imp" and a chaperone of "O".

A sweet, comforting base of dark chocolate and brown sugar with thirteen herbs of good fortune, including nutmeg, Tonka, allspice, star anise, Jamaican and African gingers, devil’s shoestring, lucky hand root, and thyme.

Also, Dark Delicacies is up to it again, with a Victorian Horror Duets series of BPALs. I have so far not succumbed, but Mr Hyde is tempting me terribly, that wicked, wicked man!

Failure to Restrain...

I just thought I'd mention that I /was/ strong. I /was/ good. I restrained from buying a backup bottle of Snake Charmer Ressurected. I made it! I made it past the cut-off date of the 15th. I was fine with one. I could manage. Hooray!

But then it stayed up an extra day. And another. It started calling to me again. And then it got to be the 18th, and I got to talking to the boyfriend, who loved it and was distressingly enabling. So I put it into my shopping cart and -valiantly without buying it- went out to get groceries, thinking if it was still available when I got home that I was meant to have it.

It was. I was. I just finished putting in the order for my backup bottle. And, of course, an imp pack to keep it company and justify shipping.

I am so weak. Even when I am strong. I think I am going to blame the boyfriend for this one.

Forum-only BPAL B-Day Scent

Edited because I cannot READ!! :)

Happy fifth birthday to the bpal.org forum! To commemorate five years of camaraderie, love, and unbelievable kindness, we present a scent comprised of notes that encapsulate the essence of friendship: carnation, apple, sweet pea, vanilla cream, passionfruit, sugar cane, tonka, and guava.

And another quick update -- Lupercalias are up on the BPAL website.  It's a massive update, with lots of good stuff, including another Shunga series (dirty Japanese paintings, woo), an Aphrodite series (inspired by vintage nude postcards) and a Box of Chocolates.

I've put in an order for one bottle of Lupercalia goodness, and ordered 17 decants.  I will, naturally, post reviews when things have arrived.

So, the question remains: what did/will you order, if anything?  And if not, what's most tempting to you?

Hello, dears.

A quick update on the holiday giftings.

I've received packages from Rae and Molly -- thank you!  They were put together with a lot of thoughtfulness and were hugely fun to open.  Hugs all around, and thanks for helping me try scents I've been dying to get my paws on.

Lucy is in the midst of shipping hers.  2 shipped, 2 not (one of which is mine).  Shipping place was being picky about packaging, doh!

My packages went to the post office (finally!) on Saturday.  I really do apologize for the delay, but I hope you all appreciate that I've left out my cold germs and didn't send them to you as an extra holiday gift.  This time, no giant ice storms or power outages interfered with my packing plans.  A care package is also on its way to Tally.

Thank you all for participating -- this has been fun!

O noes!

I'm going to be a bit delayed with my shipping out of things. A bunch of things that were supposed to be heading *my* way to then head *your* way got either lost in transit or sent to the wrong address. =(

But, no fear! I expect to have said items in my hands within a week.
